Grill some fruit

Fruits are great on the grill. Grab a skewer and pile onthe peaches, pineapple, strawberries or any other fruit you love.  You can brush the skewers lightly with someoil (like canola or vegetable oil) or try drizzling with a little bit of meltedhoney.

Grillsome veggies

Whetheryou put your favorite veggies directly on the grill or make veggie kabobs, thisis a healthy and satisfying option. So pick your favorite veggies (corn, peppers, onions, zucchini, squash, etc.)  brush lightly with olive oil, add a dash ofsalt and pepper and youve got a delicious healthy option.

Gobblea turkey burger

You wonteven miss the beef burgers by substituting lower fat, healthier turkey burgers. You can also make a large Portobello mushroom burger.  Mushrooms have a hearty, meaty flavor.

Have a hot dog

Hotdogs are a better option than burgers. Hot dogs are lower in calories canbe topped with low calorie condiments such as mustard or relish. You can evenpile some of your grill veggies (like onions or peppers) to amp up the flavor.

Picka healthy salad

Skip the potatosalad. Cole slaw is a healthier choice, but even better is a pasta salad madewith whole grain pasta and grilled veggies. Drizzle with a little olive oil andadd fresh herbs.

Choose your chips wisely

Skip the regularchips and dip and instead go for chips made with alternative grains such as bluecorn, quinoa, black beans or lentils. Enjoy the salsa. Its low in calories andfat.  But avoid dips made with mayo orsour cream.

Alcohol is Okay

Its fine to have some alcohol n the 4th of July but pick alighter option like Sangria, which is loaded with fruit. And if you really wanta beer, go for a light beer under 100 calories.
